Go Fish: This is a fun way for you and your baby to cool off when the weather is hot hot hot! This game is best reserved for babies that can sit by themeslves. But don't worry, if yours isn't quite there yet, you might want to try your bathtub seat to see if it makes it easier for your sweetie to sit up in the water. Once your baby is in the water, place several colorful plastic fish into the pool. Make sure they are the kind that will sink. Some should be close and some farther away so he/she has to reach. Then say "go fish" and help him/her to grab the fish. You can even take turns "fishing". Don't forget to make a big deal out of your cuties catch. Deep Sea Treasure Hunt: OK, so the sea won't be all that deep. This game, like the one above, is played in your backyard baby pool. With your little one sitting safely in the middle of the pool, place plastic poker chips in the pool around your baby. BE CAREFUL to watch your baby and make sure they don't put the chips into their mouth. Have your baby find the "treasure" and place the chips into the "treasure chest" that you are holding. Again, make a big deal out of your little explorer's finds. |
