Lets get started!!!!

1) Name your group...ie "The Mommies" a SW Wash/Vancouver Playgroup

2) Create your Flyer (use our sample or create your own!), make copies, and post at local grocery store, daycare, church etc.

3) Go to http://groups.yahoo.com. Create a group using the name of your group and locale, follow their directions. You will automatically be the moderator. Moderate membership, but let members post freely.  Once you've created your group, let me know so that I can join.  I'd love to be able to see what cool things you guys plan and maybe pass on the info to other MommiesClubs.

4) Go to Digital City. Find your City/State. Here there are two important sections. Pen Pals (You can find this under the "Chat & Personals" tab), and community announcements (look for bulletinboard). Sign up, announce your group, create a pen pal ad for "SAHMs" who would like to make friends. Search other pen pals for other moms who have posted and are looking for "friends". Email them directly.

Ex. Subject: Hello fellow mom!    Body: I saw your post for friends, and I thought maybe you would be interested in my new playgroup....etc.

5) Go to www.ivillage.com in the Parent's Place Message Boards you will find a listing of City/States...Post a hello message and an announcement of your new playgroup.

6) Don't forget to announce your group at emommies.net in our Local Message Boards!!!!

 

Wait one week...you should receive 5-10 responses. Always reply immediately, ask if they are interested in joining the email loop.  Once you get 3-4 you should be able to pick a date for your first meeting. Post the date/place/time. See below for hints on having your first playgroup!
